Dangers Facing Babies Born into Muslim Families

Many people do not realize the great danger that lies behind the good fortune of a baby born into a Muslim family.
A child born into a Muslim family will naturally imitate what their parents do, and quickly. We often see children of only 3 or 4 years old copying their parents as they pray. On one hand, this is good for getting children used to praying. On the other hand, it carries a great risk that these children will grow up to be merely imitative Muslims, or "Muslims by birth."
For example, from around the age of 5 or 6, our parents usually begin teaching us the prayer recitations, then the prayer movements and how to perform ablution (wudu). After the age of 7, we are told to pray at all five prayer times. From then until we are old, we are always obedient and diligent in our prayers.
What we do not realize is that there is a most important piece of knowledge about prayer that our parents never taught us: the knowledge of tawhid, which is knowledge of the One we worship. All we were given was His name, Allah. It is true that tawhid cannot yet be taught to young children, but we should not reach old age without any knowledge of tawhid, so that our prayer today still rests on nothing but recitations and movements.
Many of you may be surprised right now and wonder: do we really need to know Allah? And what exactly is the knowledge of tawhid?

What is the knowledge of tawhid?
Note:
We do not teach tawhid through the internet. All the religious articles on this website exist only to demonstrate and remind people how important knowledge of tawhid is. Learning tawhid is like attending any ordinary religious study session, such as at a prayer room (musholla) or a majelis taklim.
